Armed men thrash cop, snatch gun

DADU, Oct 24: A police constable was injured and a government rifle was snatched by three unidentified armed men in an attack at a police picket late on Tuesday night, two kilometres away from Dadu town.

According to details, three unidentified armed men attacked police picket Pir Muhammad Murad Nako of the town police and snatched one government rifle (No. 35006559 SM-6), one magazine and thirty bullets from the possession of police constable Ghulam Hussain Khokhar when he was on duty. When constable Ghulam Hussain Khokhar offered resistance, the accused hit him with iron rods and fled on a motorcycle.

On receiving information a heavy contingent of police arrived on the spot and the injured constable was admitted to Civil Hospital Dadu in a serious condition.

Security has been tightened at the link roads of Dadu town and checking of all vehicles has been intensified.
