MITHI, Oct 23: Thirteen Nazims of different union councils of Tharparkar district have demanded of the chief secretary Sindh and minister education to transfer Mohammad Ali Unnar, assistant district officer education (elementary/male) Chhachhro, and conduct an inquiry against him for his alleged maladministration and embezzlement in the funds of education department.
Showing documents to the journalists at a joint press conference here on Tuesday, opposition leader of district council, Rahmatullah Rahoomo, Nazim union council Jesse-jo-Par, Abdur Rahim Khoso, Nazim UC Harho, Soonharo, Nazim UC Tar, Ahmed and other ten Nazims alleged when Mr Unnar was SDEO Chhachhro, he appointed a number of ghost teachers by showing them transferred from other division to Chhachhro.
The Nazims added that he embezzled their salaries besides misappropriating GP fund, pension, differences and other funds through fake vouchers and tampering with the record, and was put under suspension by the authorities after inquiry against him.
Meanwhile, heated arguments continued for about an hour during the session of Mithi district council here on Tuesday, when Rahmatullah, the opposition leader, tabled motion in the house, terming Mr Unnar corrupt and demanding his shifting from Chhachhro.
The convener of the assembly, Ramsingh Sodho, gave ruling that the relevant authorities would be moved to conduct probe into the allegations levelled by the opposition leader and other members against the ADOE Chhachhro and take appropriate action.
Meanwhile, Abdur Rahim Khoso, Nazim UC Harho of taluka Nagarparkar, has appealed to IG police Sindh, SSP and district Nazim Tharparkar to take notice of the registration of fake cases by the personnel of the Harho police post against innocent villagers at the behest of some political forces.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, the Nazim alleged that ASI Umer Otho and constable Pathan Sangrasi of the police post, had lodged fake FIRs against Mithu Khoso, Raman Ali, Mohabto Kolhi and others.
Khoso added that the policemen were unnecessarily teasing and fleecing innocent villagers by implicating them in fake cases.
