KARACHI, Oct 22: PIA endured a miserable second day of their Patron’s Trophy Grade-I fixture against Wapda at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Monday.
Despite a solid opening stand of 90, PIA crashed to 168 for seven in their first innings after Wapda made 331, says a message here.
It was a dismal batting performance from a team that boasts of reliable and experienced batsmen.
PIA’s first target Tuesday will be to garner 14 runs to avoid the follow-on with Mahmood Hamid (5) the only specialist batsman left.
Sohail Jaffer (44 off 64 balls) and Ghulam Ali (67 off 169 balls) had given PIA a head start but once the partnership was broken the middle-order caved in without a fight against pace duo of Raees Amjad and Faisal Irfan, who shared five wickets them between.
Raees disposed off Faisal Iqbal (15), skipper Moin Khan (0) and Nadeem Afzal (5) while Faisal removed Sohail Jaffar and Asif Mujtaba (5).
