Taliban arrest Japanese

PESHAWAR, Oct 22: The Taliban said a Japanese man claiming to be a journalist had been arrested on Monday in the eastern Afghan province of Kunar.

A Taliban intelligence agency source in Jalalabad said the man, whose name was not known, had been arrested for illegally entering the country.

The Afghan Islamic Press, quoting Taliban sources in Jalalabad, said the Japanese man had “sneaked” into Afghanistan.
