KHAIRPUR: Eight booked after armed attack

KHAIRPUR, Oct 21: “B” section police, Khairpur, have booked eight Ghumro tribesmen following an armed attack on two persons including one wireless operator of Khairpur police.

Those booked were identified as Faiz Ahmed, Muhammad Parial, Wazeer, Ghanwar, Mehboob, Muhammad Azam, Ghulam Abbas and Muhammad Nawaz.

The case was registered on Saturday on the complaint of the injured.

Unidentified gunmen had opened fire on Niaz Hussain and Nazir Ahmed Ghumro, the wireless operator of Khairpur police.

The injured were admitted to Civil Hospital, Khairpur, in critical condition.

KILLED: A young cyclist, Muhammad Haneef, was killed on Friday night near Gambat bypass on the National Highway when he was hit by a speedy pickup.

Police have arrested Abdul Jabbar, driver of the pickup.

SUICIDE: Pathani, 30, committed suicide on Friday night in Nara taluka in Thar due to domestic problems.

SUSPENDED: SSP of Khairpur has suspended Khalid Raza, SHO of “B” section police station, after he paid a surprise visit on Saturday at the police station and found no officials on duty.

SURRENDERS: A man, Shah M Narejo, who had allegedly murdered his parents, Khair Muhammad (60) and Sharifan (50), some five months ago in Motan Khan Narejo village, near Khuhra, surrendered himself before the SSP, Khairpur, on Saturday evening.
