Aisam leaves on Asian trip


LAHORE, Oct 19: Pakistan top tennis star, Aisam ul Haq, left here Friday on a seven-week hectic tour to feature in ATP Challenger international tournaments in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand.

Talking to APP before his departure,he said he was in good form and eager to take on coming challenges.

“ I am fully fit and in high spirit after winning a doubles ATP Challenger title in Uzbekistan earlier this month and I am confident to do better in the coming tournaments “,said Aisam who is ranked 150th in the doubles and 270th in the ATP singles ranking.

A hamstring injury in the right leg, restricted Aisam for giving his one hundred percent in few previous tournaments in which he could not make it to the semi finals of the singles.

Aisam from PIA said that he has done special physical training to make his legs more stronger to play a match to its full extend and to take on the tough challenges which requires top physical as well mental fitness.

He said playing in a number of tournaments sometimes result in injuries to players but players are forced to play in ranking tournaments in order to maintain their ranking.—APP
