KARACHI, Oct 19: Members of the Alliance of Market Association (AMA) have decided to open their shops and businesses on Sundays till Eid-ul-Fitr to offset the negative impact on the markets after US attacks on Afghanistan.

This was decided in an emergency meeting called by the AMA on Friday.

AMA members like Allah Wala Market, Plastic Market, Eid Gah Cloth Market, Furniture Markets of Aram Bagh, Queens Road, Gilani, Liaquatabad and Nursery, Saddar, Bohri Bazar, Motandas Market, Hassan Square, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Bohra Pir Alliance, Gulbahar Trade Alliance, Mochi Bazar, Qureishi Bazar, Burns Road, Marriott Road, Boulton Market and Tariq Road will observe Sundays as a working day.

AMA President Atiq Mir said that protest demonstrations and strikes against attacks on Afghanistan have adversely affected business activities in the city. He said in view of buying euphoria ahead of Ramazan, our members have decided to open their shops on Sundays.
