Pakistan Customs crush ADBP

KARACHI, Oct 18: Pakistan Customs kept alive their hopes of retaining their Patron’s Trophy Grade-I title after scoring crushing seven-wicket victory over ADBP at Sheikhupura Stadium Thursday.

According to details available here, Customs, chasing 160, reached their target thanks to an unbeaten 57 off 73 balls by 25-year-old dusky left-hander Asim Kamal.

Earlier, ADBP were bowled out for 372 in their second innings having resumed at 252 for four with left-arm pacer Waqar Ahmed claiming five for 116 and match haul of 10 for 169.

Ghaffar Kazmi, the 38-year-old all-rounder, carried his overnight score of 43 to 79. Ghaffar, who batted for 248 minutes and faced 147 deliveries, shared a fifth-wicket partnership of 83 with Javed Hayat.

Javed, the 36-year-old left-hander, made 42 off 72 balls in 102 minutes.

Waqas Chughtai was Customs’ other main wicket-taker with figures of three for 70.

Customs’s third win in five matches put them and National Bank on top of the standings with 36 points each with four rounds remaining in the 10-team championship.
