ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: Laboratory tests by the World Health Organisation (WHO) have confirmed the prevalence of Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Quetta, a UN official said at a news conference here on Thursday.
The WHO, National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Baluchistan health authorities had started investigations into reports about CCHF breakout in Quetta on Oct 5.
United Nations Information Centre Director Eric Falt said the laboratory tests had confirmed three positive and one negative cases of CCHF during the first 17 days of October.
