NEW DELHI, Oct 17: India said on Wednesday that its troop movements along the Line of Control were a “routine redeployment”.

An Indian defence spokesperson told Deutsche Presse-Agentur: “It is a routine turnover of units and local redeployment keeping in view the infiltration threat as winter sets in.”

Besides, the United News of India quoted an external affairs spokesperson as saying that Pakistan’s statement that the movement was a threat to their security was a “complete fabrication”.

“There has been no such movement by us, mainly because there is no need to do so,” a highly placed air force source said in New Delhi, adds AFP.
