Power breakdown in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR, Oct 17: Power breakdown has aggravated the problems of the residents of Halani, border town and other 50 villages of district Khairpur for the last two days.

Power supply to Halani main town, villages Behlani, Bhanbhara, Pir Qaim Shah, Joghi, Pir Watew, Kotri, Chattal Solangi, Mirzapur, Dhodgua, Solangi, Brohi, Umer Memon, Zehro Chang and some other villages remained shut for 15 hours.

This breakdown has disturbed the routine life as water supply to various towns remain disrupted. The power crisis has also hit the flour mills.

Representatives of consumers said that it was for the first time that power supply remained disrupted for 15 hours.

They have appealed to the higher authorities to stop this load-shedding.

ARRESTED: Kot Diji police have arrested three armed men identified as Ali Khan Gopang, Manzoor Rajar and Adnan Solangi late Tuesday night. Police have claimed that the accused were robbing the people on link road.

INJURED: Some three motorcyclists were injured when they were crossing a closed railway crossing.

A local shuttle train hit their motorbike late Tuesday night in Ranipur on Talpur road.

Railway police took them to Ranipur hospital where they were given first aid after two hours.

KILLED: A person identified as Ghazi was gunned down by four unknown armed men on Tuesday night.
