Stray bullet kills girl

GUJRANWALA, Oct 17: A minor girl was killed when a stray bullet fired in jubilation at a marriage ceremony hit her in Kot Jai Singh village on Wednesday.

Amber, 8, was looking at a marriage procession from the roof of her house when a participant fired shots in the air. A bullet hit the girl killing her on the spot.

Police have registered a case.

PDA ANGUISH: The Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) and other doctors’ organizations expressed anguish on police failure to arrest the killers of PDA president Dr Ghulam Rasul.

They threatened that they would launch a country-wide protest campaign if the killers were not arrested in a couple of days.

Meanwhile, a meeting presided over by Dr Javed Ashraf, paid tributes to the late Dr Ghulam Rasul.

The doctors of DHQ, civil hospitals and private clinics, in the meantime, continued their token strike and wore black armbands in protest against the murder of Dr Ghulam Rasul. They said their strike would continue till the arrest of the accused.

Police claimed to have arrested a man on suspicion of killing Dr Ghulam Rasul and said others would be arrested soon.
