KARACHI, Oct 16: Habib Bank coasted to a crushing 10-wicket victory over KRL on the second day of the four-day Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match at Saga Ground, Sialkot Tuesday.

The bankers’ second victory put them, for the time being, on top of the table with 30 points — three more than both KRL and PIA, according to details available here.

Set a target of only 64, openers Imran Farhat (35 of 43 balls) and Saleem Elahi (15) completed the formality in 54 minutes to ensure Habib Bank securing the maximum 12 points.

Having started the second morning 66 runs behind KRL on the first innings, Habib Bank’s last four wickets ensured a handy 46-run lead with Farhan Adil and Sajid Shah leading the way.

Farhan top-scored with 41 off 64 deliveries in 92 minutes while all-rounder Sajid contributed 31 off 64 balls in 98 minutes.

The seventh-wicket pair shared the highest partnership of the game — 66 as Habib Bank eventually reached 196 from the overnight 84 for six.

Batting a second time, KRL were shot out for just 109 in 33.1 overs with Test reject Misbah-ul-Haq making 45 off 93 balls in a stay of 143 minutes.

Kabir Khan, the left-arm pacer, did most of the damage by snapping up four for 34.

Shahid Nazir, who took five for 46 Monday, captured three for 28 while Sajid completed a fine match with three for 13 and match haul of six for 65.
