Houbaras seized

SUKKUR, Oct 16: On receiving information about the trading of houbara bustard, the Deputy Conservator of Wildlife, Sukkur, Hussain Bux Bhagat constituted a party which raided the desert area near Kot Lalu and seized five bustards from the possession of two poachers, Ghazi Khan and Jamil Khan Bugti.

Both the poachers were arrested red-handed. A case has been registered against them under Sindh Wildlife Protection Ordinance, 1972, while the birds have been confiscated. Further investigations are under way.

EYE CAMPS: Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Sukkur, is organizing free eye camps at the Government Primary School Piryaloi and Government Primary School Sarai Ali Nawaz, both in district Khairpur, on October 23 and 25, respectively.

Nazim: Nazim of District Sukkur, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, accompanied by Nazim of District Larkana, Khurshid Junejo, and Sukkur SSP Din Mohammad Baloch visited various polling stations where by-election to vacant seats of Nazims in two Union Councils of Sukkur city were being held.

He saw the arrangements and also inquired about the overall turnout of voters from the concerned polling staff during his visit.
