Murder case against five students

TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 15: Police on Monday registered a murder case against five students of the Government Municipal Degree College for killing their college fellow.

Police said Imran Sajjad of Chak 488-JB, Jhang, visited the college to get admission to third year some two days back. He was sitting with his friends when students of the rival group attacked him after an exchange of hot words over a minor issue. He sustained a head injury and was taken to hospital where he died.

Further investigation is under way.

BY-ELECTION: There will be no by-election for the seat of union council No 60, Kamalia subdivision, on Tuesday as the only candidate, Syed Akhlaq Husain, was declared elected unopposed on Monday.

Elections for Nazim of union council No 32, Toba Tek Singh subdivision, and Naib Nazim of union council No 78, Kamalia Town, will be held on time.

SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide in Chak 338-JB here on Monday.

Having tired of financial restraints, truck driver Abid took poison and breathed his last prior to reaching hospital.
