Bus accident leaves 13 injured

SAHIWAL, Oct 15: At least 13 people sustained injuries, two of them critical, when a bus overturned on the bypass on Sunday evening.

A bus (LXP-7784), on its way to Arifwala, overturned after being hitting a car, leaving 13 people injured. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

The bus driver escaped after the accident.

DEPRIVED: Bandits drove away with a cotton laden tractor-trolley here on Sunday.

Rizwan Rasul of Chak 41/12-L was on his way back by his trolley (MN-9512) when four armed people intercepted him. They locked the driver in a room and disappeared with the vehicle.

Chichawatni Saddar police have registered a case.

DISTRICT NAZIM: District Nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan has disclosed that around 15,000 patients will be given free treatment during a health fair to be held in Chak 3/14-L and Kassowal Rural Health Centre.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said some 500 eye patients would be operated upon free of cost.

He urged the philanthropists to support the poor in the hour of distress.

District Hospital MS Dr Jahanzeb Khan and members of the organizing committee Dr Sarfraz Chaudhry, Dr Abdul Hamid and others were also present on the occasion.
