KARACHI: Driver saves train from mob attack

KARACHI, Oct 15: A suburban train had to be withheld at Baldia Railway Station on the circular railway system after its driver sensed danger of it coming under attack by an unruly mob.

The KCR 2-dn Landhi-City Station via the circular system had left Baldia Station for Karachi City Station when its driver spotted a mob at some distance.

Sensing danger, he stopped the train and brought it back to the Baldia Station where it remained for several hours before it moved to City Station after getting clearance from concerned authorities.

During the waiting period, the railway authorities posted a railway police escort for safety of the train and its passengers.—APP
