PESHAWAR: Police not happy with court ruling

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, Oct 14: The civil judge of Nowshera has absolved the driver of a judge of the overspeeding charge and waived the fine imposed by the motorway police without calling the concerned mobile team to the court.

“How can we improve the image of the motorway police when all the government departments, particularly the police, are held in derision?” said one of the two officials who had charged the driver with overspeeding.

On Sept 28, driver Muzammil Shah was driving the car at a high speed near Pabbi on G.T. Road when a motorway police mobile stopped him and fined him Rs750. The case came up for hearing at the court of civil judge Babar Ali on Oct 5, who waived the fine.
