PESHAWAR, Oct 14: Pakistan Afghanistan Defence Council Chairman Maulana Samiul Haq has called upon the masses to observe strike on the arrival of US Secretary of State Colin Powell on Monday.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the US had planned to hand Kashmir over to India after spoiling brotherly relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He said the nation should make it clear to the secretary of state  that people of Pakistan could not be pressurised and that they support the Taliban.

He said President Bush had stated that the US forces would not be withdrawn from the region after the mission. The council chairman said that, on the pretext of targeting Osama bin Laden or toppling the Taliban government, America wanted to create instability in the region.
