KARACHI: By-election tomorrow


KARACHI, Oct 14: By-election for the seats of Nazim and Naib Nazim in 28 union councils in Sindh, including seven in Karachi, will be held on October 16.

The number of vacant seats was 42, out of which, however, 14 seats have already been filled, as the contesters were elected unopposed.

In Karachi, the constituencies where by-election will be held are: UC 6, Frontier Colony; UC 1, Kalyana Town; UC 7, Madina Colony; UC 3, Ayesha Manzil; UC 7, Khuwaja Ajmir Colony, and UC 8, Zaman Town.

Elsewhere in the province, by-election will be held in the following areas: UC 3, Shaheed Gunj, UC 6 Shamsabad, district Sukkur; UC 14, Keenjhar and UC 25, Hussain Beli of district Ghotki; UC 6 Therhi and UC 14, Machyunoon, district Khairpur Mirs; UC 4, Nawanshah-IV; UC 8, Arija and UC 6, Ghabidero, Larkhana.

By-election will also be held for a seat of district Jacobabad; UC 8, Kot Jangu; four seats of district Hyderabad, including UC 18, Hyderabad City, UC 1, Jhando Mari, UC 10, Allahyar Turk, and UC 5, Shah Panjo; UC 6, Nau Goth, and UC 11, Pipri of district Dadu.—PPI
