Glory for Physical Education

KARACHI, Oct 13: The Health and Physical Education won the table tennis and badminton titles of the Karachi University Inter-departmental tournaments defeating Urdu and Geology departments here at the University Campus Saturday.

In the boys tennis tournament, Physics disposed of General History and Computer Science prevailed over MPA in the semifinals. They meet in the final Tuesday, says a press release of the KU.

Final: Health and Physical Education beat Urdu Department (Najmus Sehar bt Nadia Mukhtar 21-5, 21-13; Najmus Sehar and Zaima bt Nadia Mukhtar and Ferwa 21-5, 21-13).

Semifinals: Health and Physical Education beat Education Department (Najmus Sehar bt Shumaila 21-6, 21-5; Najmus Sehar and Zaima bt Shumaila and Ghazala 21-11, 21-10).

Urdu Department beat Economics Department (Nida Mukhtar bt Aysha Qureshi 21-5, 21-6; Nida Mukhtar and Ferwa bt Aysha Qureshi and Saira 21-6, 21-5).

Badminton:

Final: Health and Physical Education beat Geology (Najmus Sehar bt Arifa 11-5,11-4; Najmus Sehar and Shazia bt Arifa and Hina 15-8, 15-10).

Semifinals: Health and Physical Education beat Psychology Department (Najmus Sehar bt Humaira 11-5, 11-4; Najmus Sehar and Shazia bt Humaira and Irisha 15-6, 15-5).

Geology beat Urdu Department (Arifa bt Nadia Mukhtar 11-8, 11-6; Arifa and Hina bt Nadia Mukhtar and Ferwa 15-8, 15-6).

Boys:

Tennis:

Semifinals: Physics beat General History (Amjad Munir bt Aqeel 6-0, 6-1; Amjad Munir and Fayyaz-ul-Rasheed bt Aqeel and Moiz 6-0, 6-4).

Computer Science beat MPA (Imran Yousuf bt Ahmer Shamim 6-0, 6-1; Imran and Asad bt Ahmer and Zia 6-0, 6-3).
