KARACHI, Oct 13: Secretary defence, Lt Gen (rtd) Hamid Nawaz, on Saturday reviewed the security arrangements made by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Airport Security Force (ASF) in liaison with the army to ensure safe and secure airline operation.
According to CAA sources, the general was given a complete rundown on the impact of the September 11 incident on the aviation activity in Pakistan and the CAA’s initiatives to build up the confidence of air-passengers.
The secretary defence was presented a complete picture of the air-space management through maps and charts, emphasising the fact that Pakistan air space was absolutely safe for overflying traffic and the country’s airports were open to both passenger and cargo planes, without any restrictions.—APP
