KARACHI: Extension in admission date demanded

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 13: In view of the prevailing law and order situation and non-availability of staff at schools, candidates applying for admissions to medical colleges in the city have urged the Sindh health department to extend the last date for submission of application forms.

Callers told Dawn on telephone that the situation was highly unfavourable for completing the long list of queries, acquisition of different documents, attestations and attachment of those along with the application forms.

The Board of Secondary Education was also late in issuing the matric certificates, a must for applying to the medical colleges, said many students, adding that most of them were still not in possession of the certificates.

On the other hand it was learnt that the pace of submission of forms still could not get any momentum. About 650 applications have so far been received at the Karachi centre for admissions, while the last date is October 15.
