WASHINGTON, Oct 13: Those who plotted the Sept 11 attacks on New York and Washington also surveyed other sites as possible targets including two Disney theme parks and the largest US shopping mall, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported on Saturday.
The Philadelphia Inquirer, citing internal government documents, said the terrorists looked at sports facilities, Disney World in Florida, Disneyland in California and the Mall of America outside Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The daily also said, as earlier reports had indicated, that the Sears Tower in Chicago — the tallest in the United States — was another possible target.
The FBI recently warned of threats of additional attacks in the US but did not mention any specific targets.—AFP
