ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: Revolutionary steps are underway to modernize the communication system in Pakistan, federal minister for communication and railways, Lt-Gen (rtd) Javed Ashraf Qazi, said.

He was talking to high commissioner of Brunei, Brig-Gen (rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Mohammad, who called on him here on Friday.

The minister said Pakistan would extend every possible technical assistance to Brunei to modernize its communication system.

The minister said there was vast capacity for promoting cooperation in the communication sector between Pakistan and Brunei. He said the communication ministry would undertake every possible measure to provide technical cooperation to Brunei.

He said cooperation in the communication sector would further strengthen the brotherly relation between the two countries.

Dato Paduka said it was satisfying that Pakistan was making extra-ordinary development in the communication sector and “we desire to seek cooperation of Pakistan in the communication sector.

The envoy said the communication system of Brunei was being modernized and “we wanted to benefit from the experts of Pakistan in this sector. He said Brunei would undertake all steps to promote bilateral relationship with Pakistan. He hoped the brotherly ties between the two would further be promoted in the days to come.
