Shooting trials from Oct 13

KARACHI, Oct 10: Two-day trials to select a strong 20-member Sindh shooting squad for the national championship will be held at Naval Shooting Complex Karsaz from Oct 13, a spokesman of Sindh Rifle Association announced Wednesday.

The six-day national championship will be held at the newly built shooting range at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad from Oct 18 to 23.

According to the programme, on the first day trials will be held in Trap while on Sunday trials will be conducted in Skeet, Pistol and Rifle.

Two national record holders including Olympian Khurram Inam in skeet and Captain Mahmood Sultan in trap will also be appearing in the trials with another top skeet shooter Ahmed Sultan.

Sindh finished third behind reigning champion Pakistan Army and Navy in the nationals with three gold, one silver and one bronze.

Selection committee headed by Razi Ahmed Khan with Arif Faheem its secretary and Secretary General National Rifle of Pakistan Parvez Abbasi as its member will watch the trials.

Sindh has strong chances to clinch four golds both the individual and team golds in skeet and trap events of the national championship.—APP
