Bronze for Shehryar and Arshad

KARACHI, Oct 10: Shehryar Arshad and crew Mohammad Riaz won the bronze medal in the recently concluded 10th Asian Sailing championship 2001 held at Pusan, South Korea, says a press release.

The competition held under very difficult sailing conditions, with choppy seas and strong winds was closely contested by South Korea, India and Pakistan with the Pakistan duo struggling to maintain their three points lead from the previous eight races, however due to boat problems they lost the lead and came in third.

Results: 1st position Aashim Mongies/Mahesh, India, 2nd position Jun Joo Hyun/ Jung Keuon, South Korea and 3rd position Shehryar Arshad/ Mohammad Riaz, Pakistan.
