SIALKOT, Oct 10: Three buffaloes and two donkeys were killed while 11 houses were damaged in firing by Indian Security Forces on Pakistani border villages near the Sialkot working boundary here on Wednesday.

Official sources told Dawn that the Indian Security Forces continued intensified shelling on Pakistani border villages in Bajwat, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Harpal, Bajragarhi, Charwa, Jammu, Zafarwal and Shakargarh sectors.

They said the Sialkot-Kingra-Bajragarhi road and Sucheetgarh-Thathi Gujjran road remained closed for traffic due to intensified Indian shelling.

They confirmed that the Chenab Rangers again thwarted two major Indian attempts of fencing near the working boundary in Jammu and Bajwat sectors on Tuesday night, destroying two big Indian defensive pillars.

The firing between the Chenab Rangers and Indian Security Forces was continuing till the filing of this report late Wednesday evening.

DASKA ACCIDENT: None of the seven victims of Tuesday’s accident on Gujranwala Road in Daska could be identified on Wednesday.

The condition of 17 out of 25 injured was said to be critical in the Daska Civil Hospital.

Bambanwala police said on Wednesday investigation were under way.

Earlier, five identified people were laid to rest in graveyards of Daska and its suburbs.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by highwaymen for resistance on the Ugoki-Dhumseywali Road on Tuesday night.

Muhammad Naseer, 30, was on his way on his bicycle when six highwaymen who were already looting people intercepted him. They shot him dead on resistance and escaped.

Sambrial and Ugoki police were busy in deciding the jurisdiction of the spot.

Meanwhile, the villagers protested against the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.

In Hunterpura (Civil Lines), Sialkot, a youth was found dead from a well.

Police said that Muhammad Musharraf, 18, was attacked with some sharp-edged weapons.

Police registered the case and were investigating.
