RAWALPINDI: Security tightened at UN offices

RAWALPINDI, Oct 10: Security has been tightened at the office of the United Nations Military Observers Group (UNMOG), in the wake of attacks on Afghanistan.

Armed troops have been deployed besides police contingent that was already on duty.

The UNMOG offices on Jhelum road opposite Ayub National Park were set up by the United Nations to monitor the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. The armed troops have also been deployed at important roads in the cantonment areas of Rawalpindi.—APP
