MULTAN, Oct 9: The Bahauddin Zakariya University on Tuesday declared the results of BA, BSc first annual examinations, 2001. The gazette was, however, not available to the general public.
As many as 25,146 candidates appeared in the examination. Of them, 11,164 were declared passed with a pass percentage of 44.39. Girls showed better pass percentage both in BA and BSc as compared to the boys.
In BA, Abida Ramzan of the Government College for Women, Sahiwal, stood first by getting 645 marks, Naila Ashfaq of the Government College for Women, Multan, second with 625 marks and Muhammad Irfan Tahir of the Government College for Boys, Bureywala, third with 613 marks.
In BSc, Saqiba Noor of the Government College for Women, Multan, got the first position by securing 678 marks, Hasan Jamil Qureshi of the Government College, Vehari, second with 671 marks and Inamullah of the Government College, Dera Ghazi Khan, third with 669 marks.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the executive hall of the MBA Department where university vice-chancellor Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa was the chief guest.
At the ceremony it was announced that copies of the gazette were in the printing process, and that two copies were available at the controller of examinations office.
When contacted, the university’s adviser on examination affairs, Prof. Fayyaz Ahmad Husain, said the results would soon be available on the university’s web site while the gazette would be available on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC claimed that the result had been announced in the shortest possible time in the history of any university of the country. It took only 53 days to be declared. He said the university was trying its best to eliminate corruption and malpractice from the examination system.
MSc RESULT: The university has also declared the results of MSc psychology, Part-I, second annual examination, 2000.
In all 11 candidates appeared in the examination, out of them 10 were declared successful with a pass percentage of 90.9.
Roll numbers of successful candidates are 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.
