KARACHI: OIC urged to help stop attacks

KARACHI, Oct 9: Religious scholars have called upon the OIC to take effective steps for halting US attacks on Afghanistan and appealed to the Pakistanis to boycott all the US, UK-made and other foreign products, besides forging unity among its ranks and maintaining peace in the country since it was entangled with a critical situation.

The appeal was made at a meeting held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani, chief Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP). The meeting urged the OIC to raise the issue at its scheduled foreign ministers conference.

The religious scholars criticised the US and its allies for shedding blood of innocent Afghans on the pretext of waging a war against terrorism. They also called upon other religious leaders to give a call for boycotting foreign-made products as according to them this move would certainly destroy the anti-Islam forces economically.

The meeting condemned the anti-Pakistan propaganda unleashed by Indian media and also demanded of the UN to stop state terrorism in held Kashmir and Palestine by Indian and Israeli forces.— PPI
