Ravens ease past winless Titans

BALTIMORE, Oct 8: The Baltimore Ravens’ defense smothered Eddie George, and the Ravens rushed for 208 yards to ease past the winless Tennessee Titans 26-7 Sunday.

Terry Allen, who had rushed for a total of 163 yards and averaged just 2.9 yards per carry in the first three games for Baltimore, gained 108 yards on 22 carries, including a nine-yard touchdown. Jason Brookins added 68 yards and a TD on 15 carries.

Baltimore’s Elvis Grbac provided balance to the offense, throwing for 259 yards, including a 77-yard touchdown to Qadry Ismail.

The Ravens’ defense did not allow any points, but Baltimore’s bid for a shutout was spoiled when Donald Mitchell blocked and returned a punt 26 yards for a touchdown with 49 seconds left in the third quarter for Tennessee.

George was held to 26 yards on 13 carries before leaving with a sprained right ankle in the third quarter. The Ravens have not allowed a 100-yard rusher in 41 consecutive games, including playoffs.
