By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, Oct 8: The Sukkur police arrested three dacoits of Bachloo Teghani’s gang from the forest area and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession on Monday.

Police had been tipped-off about the gang so they cordoned off the area. They asked the dacoits to surrender but they opened fire on the police. The police retaliated. The shootout continued for about an hour at the end of which police were able to arrest three dacoits — Yar, Pahore, and Roshan. Kalashnikovs, guns and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

Police sources said that Yar and Pahore were wanted by the Raza Goth police for kidnapping three men — Dilber Maher, Mukhtiar, and Asghar Samejo.

EDOs: The in charge of Sukkur army support team Lt Col Waheed Mukhtiar has directed the EDOs of government departments of the district to work hard with sincerity, improve things within existing resources and give better results ensuring success of the present district government system.

Presiding over a meeting of the EDOs at the DCO office here on Monday he asked them to ensure effective functioning of the complaint cells established in their departments.
