PGF to promote junior teams

LAHORE, Oct 7: To promote the game among the  promising juniors, the National Junior Golf Championship for Under-18  and boys championship for Under-14 will be held side by side the national seniors championship March next year.

The meeting decided to form Pakistan Green team in which the players ranging 18 to 22 years of age will be concluded.

Earlier, the executive committee of the PGF also held  which reviewed the achievements of Pakistani golfers during the last year. Pakistan defeated the Indian last year in the World Cup golf qualifying round in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The PGF president Muhammad Tariq lauded the efforts of the federation for promotion of golf in Pakistan which had yielded marked improvement in performance during the World Amateur Golf Championship held in Berlin, Jay Verdhanay golf tournament in Sri Lanka and Qatar Open tournament during the last year.
