GILGIT, Oct 6: The Northern Areas’ Transport Corporation (Natco) has started a bus service from Gahkuch to Rawalpindi.

Natco Managing Director Zafar Iqbal said at the inauguration of the service that the corporation had provided insurance cover to its customers.

He expressed the hope that after the completion of Ghizer-Chitral road, Natco would ply buses from Gahkuch to Peshawar, so that the travel time could be shortened by more than three hours.

CONTRACTORS DEMANDS: Contractors of Hunza and Nagar have demanded increase in the annual development budget for the areas.

Through a resolution in a meeting here, they demanded that funds should be provided to the area in accordance with the departmental demand in addition to the non-developmental funds that had not been allocated in the annual development programme.
