PESHAWAR, Oct 6: The Pakistan Medical Association , NWFP, has said the perpetrators of recent attacks on America must be brought to justice in order to rid the world of terrorists.
“Pakistan being a front-line state in war against terrorism and also geographically placed in one of the most sensitive areas, certain issues of world concern must be addressed,” said Dr Umar Ayub Khan, president of PMA, NWFP, at a press conference here on Saturday.
A large number of Afghan refugees who had recently come to Pakistan should be protected against tuberculosis and other diseases, he said.
“We need to arrange tuberculin tests at the border so as to protect children from this disease. Similarly, we may need to have mass immunization in case of a biochemical war to prevent the outbreak of anthrax and smallpox,” the PMA provincial president said.
International agencies, health organizations and government departments should contact the PMA for help in this regard, he added.
