SANGHAR, Oct 5: A man shot dead his pregnant wife and a cousin on the pretext of Karo-kari at 14 Jamrao village here, on Friday.

Usman Mari and his cousin, Hidayatullah Mari, had come from Faiz Ganj to visit another cousin, Bahram Khan Mari. Bahram suspected Usman of having an affair with his wife, Fazli.

That night when Usman went to sleep in the courtyard, Bahram shot him dead. Then he went to his room and shot dead his sleeping wife. He then surrendered himself to the police.

The Khadro police have registered a case under section 302.

Usman’s father said that his son was innocent and that he and Bahram were having some monetary dispute. His son had gone to ask Bahram to return his money when the latter shot him dead. He then killed his wife so as to make it look like Karo-kari.
