Kuwait to help refugees

ISLAMABAD, Oct 5: Kuwait will assist UNHCR in tackling Afghan refugee crisis to reduce their sufferings, damages and hunger after the recent events.

On instructions of Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and decision of the cabinet to send urgent humanitarian aid to the Afghan refugees in Pakistan, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, acting prime minister, has ordered purchase of relief goods from the Pakistani markets and handing those over to the UNHCR representative in Islamabad.

In this connection, Ebrahem Al-Fodari, director-general of the governmental aid, and a doctor arrived on Thursday to coordinate with the Kuwait embassy.
