MULTAN, Oct 4: An intermediate student, Shahid Adnan, 17, allegedly committed suicide when his parents and relatives admonished him for failing in first year examinations in Shah Rukn-i-Alam Colony here on Thursday morning.

Muhammad Ramzan of Chowk Munda, Muzaffargarh, told police that his son was staying with his maternal uncle in Shah Rukn-i-Alam Colony. Adnan recently took examinations and failed. The family admonished him over his failure.

He said in the wee hours of Thursday, Adnan hanged himself with a telephone wire tied to a ceiling fan.—APP
