SIALKOT, Oct 2: A youth was hanged by dacoits for raising an alarm during a dacoity bid in the house of a leading surgical exporter in Mohallah Mianapura (west) late Monday night.
Six dacoits burst into Muhammad Yousaf’s house and held up the inmates. They cut telephone lines and started looting while the guest Muhammad Asif raised alarm. The dacoits hanged him with a ceiling fan and made away with cash, gold ornaments, foreign currency and other valuables worth Rs1 million.
The Hajipura police have registered a case with no arrest so far.
INJURED: Local PML leader Khwaja Muhammad Saleem was shot at and injured by some car riders at Imam Sahib Chowk, Sialkot, on Tuesday.
He was on his way back home when armed people injured him. He was taken to the Allama Iqbal Memorial (DHQ) Hospital in critical condition.
KILLED: Two persons, including a woman, threw acid on a youth over a matrimonial dispute in Mohallah Bahadurpura, Pasrur, on Tuesday.
Ijaz Rasul sustained serious burn injuries and was taken to the Pasrur Civil Hospital where he expired.
