TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 1: The Pirmahal police have not yet registered a case against seven influential people who allegedly raped a girl of Chak 681/22-GB.
This was stated by the girl’s relatives here on Monday. They said an application had been submitted to the Pirmahal police 10 days back. They said seven people — Liaquat Ali, Muhammad Aslam, Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad Faheem, Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Kaleem and Muhammad Ayub — Kidnapped the girl from a village street and they took her to the Government Elementary School. There, they assaulted her criminally and fled when she fell unconscious.
They urged the SP to direct the police to immediately arrest the culprits.
OUTSTANDING DUES: The Gojra Chaudhry Sugar Mills, owned by Sharif family, still owes an amount of Rs22.5 million to the farmers of the area for the sugar cane it purchased during the last crushing season.
This was stated by district assembly Naib Nazim Haji Ghulam Rabbani here on Monday.
Protesting the delay in payment, he said the district Nazim had contacted the mills’ management some weeks ago which pledged to clear all the dues before Oct 15. Now, he said, it had extended the date till Oct 30.
