Robbers loot two houses

GUJRANWALA, Oct 1: Dacoits and robbers looted the houses of an industrialist and an expatriate and took away two motorcycles in four strikes in Wazirabad on Monday.

Two outlaws forced their entry into the house of industrialist Khalid Javed Mughal in broad daylight. They held the family hostage at gunpoint and locked them in a room. They collected Rs100,000 in cash and gold jewellery weighing 15 tolas besides electronic goods. They locked the house from outside before escaping. They also cut telephone connections.

Four bandits entered the house of expatriate Muhammad Boota by scaling boundary wall. They escaped with Rs200,000 in cash, gold ornaments weighing 35 tolas and foreign currency.

Two gunmen intercepted Bashir on Railway Road and deprived him of his motorcycle at gunpoint when he was on his way home from a nearby market.

Three highwaymen drove away with the motorcycle of Abdul Rahman of Bagrian village on the Daska-Wazirabad road. They also snatched Rs1,500 in cash from him.

SHOT AT, INJURED:Two students of a technical institute were shot at and injured by their rival group in a clash in Jura, Wazirabad, on Monday.

Two rival groups of students had a quarrel and later one of them opened fire on the members of the opponent group injuring Jura Technical Institute’s Ghulam Murtaza and Adnan. They were rushed to the THQ Hospital in Wazirabad in critical condition.

Ghakkhar police have registered a case against Sajjad Ahmad, Nasir Javed, Nazir Ahmad and Ilyas on the report of the college principal.

BODY RECOVERED:The body of a minor boy of Ghakkhar town who drowned in a canal near Mirpur along with eight other youths three days ago was also recovered by army divers on Monday.

Musawer, 8, of Shah Jamal, his uncle Mian Nadeem and seven other youths had drowned when a wagon plunged into the canal.

ARREST WARRANTS:The banking court No 1, Gujranwala, on Monday issued warrants for 12 defaulters.

They owed Rs4.8 million loan from various banks, but could not repay.
