SUKKUR, Sept 30: The sole responsibility for the deteriorated law and order situation in Sindh lies with the corrupt police officials which needs a complete overhaul.
This was the consensus of the speakers at a seminar held here o Sunday under the auspices of Sindh Tarraqi Pasand Party at the National Press Club.
The seminar was attended by a large number of intellectuals, political activists, human rights and social workers.
Presided over by Abdul Fateh Malik, advocate, the speakers were of the view that corruption in the police department was the root cause in deteriorating the law and order situation.
They said for the last 53 years the people were raising voice against the excesses of police but no change was being brought about into the department.
They felt that the police had connections with the dacoits and many of them were passing information to them.
They said unless corruption was not weeded out and justice was not provided, to the people, the situation could not be improved.
