Daughters’ killer courts arrest

BAHAWALPUR, May 1: The alleged killer of four daughters surrendered before Civil Lines police on Wednesday night.

Constable Allah Diwaya confessed that he had an altercation with his in-laws over the issue of his second marriage and lost his temper.

He said after killing his daughters he wanted to commit suicide but could not do so.

Meanwhile, funeral prayers for the four girls were offered at the Police Lines ground on Thursday.

Earlier, the bodies were handed over to their mother after postmortem examination in the BVH.

Accused Allah Diwaya had shot dead hid daughters Rabia, 12, Madhyha, 10, Jawaria, 9, and Tahira, 7, on Wednesday morning in his Qasimpur Colony house. His wife and five-year-old son Ahmad were at the second storey of the house.

SHOT DEAD: A landlord was shot dead on Thursday by unidentified people near Mubarakpur.

According to police, Iqbal was riding a motorcycle when stray bullets hit him. He died on the spot.

Musafirkhana police have registered a case.

SUICIDE: An aged man, Sarwar, Chak 45-DB, allegedly committed suicide on Thursday.

Police sources said he was disheartened due to his protracted illness.

He left behind six children.

Police have handed over the body to the family without autopsy.
