SUKKUR, May 1: More than 100 people here on Thursday observed a hunger strike for eight hours to protest against Hesco officials for resorting to load-shedding.

Talking to newsmen, they said power supply to Kandhkot, Jacobabad, Thull, Garhi Khero and other areas of the interior of Sindh was disconnected for eight hours daily.

They appealed to the Hesco chief to send an inquiry team to these areas where people were facing hardships due to the long power shutdowns.

They held local SDOs of Hesco responsible for the unannounced load-shedding, saying the SDOs disconnected electricity supply to these areas to cover power thefts.
