Football Challenge Cup kicks off today

LAHORE, April 15 Navy will meet DFA Multan (9.00pm) while National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will clash with PEL (10.30) as the 2nd NBP Football Challenge Cup kicks off at the Qasim Bagh Stadium in Multan on Friday.

Our Sports Reporter from Karachi adds Meanwhile, although the doubtful Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) team reached Multan, Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has pulled out of the competition.

“Whatever their reasons, they had not confirmed their participation anyway,” said Pakistan Football Federation's (PFF) Wing Commander Pervaiz Saeed Mir, while speaking to Dawn on Thursday.

“When they didn't even show up for the draws today, we knew they wouldn't be coming. Of course, things would have been different if they had confirmed and not shown up after the draws had been taken out.

The PFF could then have fined them then,” he concluded.

The event concludes on April 29.
