SIALKOT, April 29: An eight-year-old daughter of a labourer burnt alive in a fire erupted when a match stick was lighted during power outage on Monday evening in Beerh village, Daska tehsil.
Sadiq’s two minor daughters, Zameera, 6, and Shafaq, 8, were searching their books in the light of a match stick during power failure. A piece of the match stick fell on the quilts present in the room which caught the fire. Shafaq’s clothes caught fire as a result of which she burnt alive.
The other girl fell unconscious due to suffocation.
Meanwhile, various traders and other organizations urged the Wapda chairman to take notice of long electricity failures in the rural as well as urban areas.
KIDNAP: Three gunmen on Tuesday kidnapped exporter Nazir Ahmad from Nawa Pind Araian in a car (LRK-9106).
The family of Nazir has not yet received any call from the kidnappers of any other information about him. Saddar police are investigating.
