KARACHI, Dec 29 Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal held seven catches in an innings as National Bank took command of their low-scoring match against Habib Bank in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship on Monday.
Kamran, who had taken two catches on Sunday, claimed five more as Habib Bank were sent packing for 80 in reply to NBP's first-inning tally of 209.
Test leg-spinner Danish Kaneria captured five for 44 in 11.3 overs to restrict NBP to 130 in the second innings. Chasing a target of 260, HBL, however, once again found themselves in deep trouble and closed the second day of the four-day tie at 10 for three.
PIA, meanwhile, gained a massive lead of 354 on the first innings after piling up 419 in reply to Karachi Whites' 65 all out at the National Stadium. Karachi Whites closed at 73-3 in the second innings.
A career-best 104 not out from wicket-keeper/batsman Ahmed Zeeshan Malik helped SSGC to 346 against Pakistan Customs at the Quaid-i-Azam Park in Steel Township. Customs were 117-1 in reply.
Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal grabbed five for 37 at the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi as ZTBL struggled to 191 for seven against KRL who made 249 in the first innings with Rizwan Ahmed contributing 101.
