KHAIRPUR, April 26: The residents of 14 villages of Kot Diji taluka held a demonstration outside the Kot Diji Press Club on Friday to protest against Hesco for disconnecting power supply to their villages.
The residents of Bangul Chandio, Malhar Patho, Bathoro, Heero Bugti, Bakhoo Lashari, Khair Muhammad Patho and other affected villages said that disconnection of power supply was illegal.
However, according to the officials of Hesco, Ranipur division, power supply had been disconnected due to non-payment of bills.
PARROTS STOLEN: Four parrots were stolen from the historical site of Faiz Mahal here on Friday.
The theft was discovered when a ward went there to feed the birds.
On Saturday, the caretaker of Faiz Mahal, Ghulam Mustafa, lodged an FIR with the “A” section police against five youngsters, Zeeshan, Ghulam Shabbir, Jameel, Wazir and Abbas Dino.
According to the complainant, the youngsters trespassed into Faiz Mahal by scaling its boundary wall and stole four parrots from there.
ROBBERIES: Two motorcycles were snatched in two separate incidents in different part of Khairpur district on Friday night.
A lecturer of Shah Abdul Latif University, Sultan Ahmed, was deprived of his motorcycle by three unidentified robbers near Waris Ghambir village.
In another incident, Sher Mohammad Mahesar and Aijaz, while going to Rafiq Mahesar village from Pir Goth, were robbed of a motorcycle by two unidentified armed robbers.
