KARACHI, July 17 Excellent batting by Shayan Jahangir and Jawad Alam guided Zone-I Whites to a resounding 87-run win over Zone-II Whites in the KCCA Inter-zonal Under-15 cricket tournament final at the KCCA Stadium on Thursday.
Shayan cracked 11 boundaries in his 101 and Jawad Alam, younger brother of Test cricketer Fawad Alam, struck seven fours in his 91.
Shayan and Jawad added 200 runs for the third wicket as Zone-I Whites, batting first, amassed 252-7 in their 50 overs.
Zone-II Whites, in reply, were restricted to 165-9 in their 50 overs thanks to a fine left-arm spin bowling by Abdullah Aslam, who finished with 4-35.
Captain Zone-I Whites Saifullah Bangash and his Zone-II Whites counterpart Rao Waqar received the winners and runners-up trophies respectively. Shayan Jahangir received the man-of-the-match award. Rao Waqar and Bilal Manzoor were declared the best batsman and best bowler of the tournament respectively.
